Jakub Stępień aka Hakobo

Born 1976 in Łódź, Poland. Jakub Stępień aka Hakobo is counted amongst 50 most influential poster designers worldwide (according to John Foster’s New Masters of Poster Design: Poster Design for the Next Century). Apart from poster design, his creative practice includes developing visual identity concepts, fashion, multidisciplinary endeavors mixing together art and design, as well as many other activities in the broad field of graphic design. He has collaborated with many cultural institutions, including: NOSPR, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Poster Museum, Dizajn Gallery BWA Wrocław, Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Adam Mickiewicz Institute, National Centre for Culture. Since 2011 he has been running Hakobo Studio where he acts as an art director and a graphic designer. He has worked with: Andrzej Wajda, Netflix, Łódź Design Festival, Wyborowa, Tate Britain, Cropp, Vans, Pogo Skateboarding and Universal Music and many more.
