At Galeria Punkt design you can feel with all your senses! Design Alive, together with the Polish family brand Labra, arranged a multisensory, sensory-engaging installation consisting of lamps created thanks to the collaboration with designer Kama Mucha. – Design is best experienced with the senses. Touch, color and sound allow you to fully understand and feel it. Labra, which specializes in the production of architectural lighting fittings, knows it very well and decided to arrange the exhibition at GDD in this way – says Kama Mucha. – In two exhibition halls, multi-sensory installations were created that combine the most important assumptions of the brand: ecology and technology at the highest level.
The main goal and idea of the exhibition is to show the possibility of reusing post-production waste and making people aware that used plastic bottles can become a reusable material, and not another element polluting our planet – adds the designer. The installation was completed with The Good Living & Co furniture produced in Chojnice in Pomerania. Monika Szyca-Thomas, heir to family traditions, designs minimalist steel craftsmanship in a workshop that remembers the beginning of the last century. – I appreciate things that are handmade and not mass-produced. I want my craft furniture to remain so, because it makes them unique, says the brand's creator. Design icons are also tattooed in the gallery during GDD. Young artists from Gdynia, focused on the artistic space on a daily basis, will take care of it. – I am looking forward to working with Design Alive! Showing a non-standard installation, combining high-class design with an ecological message, will be an interesting event for both gallery visitors and GDD guests – says the owner of Galeria Punkt, Kalina Dzióbczyńska.
